Flushing Dog Evaluation
These are fun events designed for the flushing
dog and handler to practice “hunting” in the off-season. A course, usually
running along the creek at the training grounds is set up with live birds
planted in cover. Dogs are expected to find, flush and retrieve to hand, birds
that are shot over the dog. The dog and hunter are evaluated on hunting ability,
trained ability and hunting skills. Details on the evaluation are on the MHGDC
Instructions for Flushing Dog Evaluation link below. Flushing dog evaluations
are open to all flushing dogs.
